What thermostatic radiator valve is for?
A thermostatic radiator valve is a self-regulating valve. They are fitted to a hot water heating system radiator. This little thing is not just helping you to be comfortable in your home, but can save you so much money on your bills. This is why it is so important to maintain them. They are responsible for your room air temperature.
Who is qualified to change TRV in your home?
It is very important to check, who you let into your home. To receive quality service, you have to hire the right person, with the qualifications, with public liability insurance in place. The competent person is a Heating engineer. Some plumbers are also able to help you if they have knowledge of the heating system but be aware, not all of them have.

How much will it cost and how long does it take?
The replacement itself doesn’t take long. About 5-10 minutes or a little longer depending on the size of your radiator. Remove the old thermostatic valve.
However, in order to replace them, the whole system has to be drained down. Depending n the system size, this could take between 1-5 hours. When all the water has drained from the radiator, keep unscrewing the nut until you can pull the valve out of the radiator to disconnect it. Then replace it with your new valve.
In some cases, it is possible to change them without draining the heating system.
